Dr. Sobin is a licensed Clinical Psychologist trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or science-talk for “let’s look at your unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and get you some more helpful ones.” You can learn more about cognitive behavioral therapy by clicking HERE. I have worked in private practice for several years at the Center for Anxiety and the Cognitive Health Group. I have trained on both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units at Rockland Psychiatric Center and Girard Medical Center. I received my doctoral degree from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in June of 2016, and have been providing care for patients since 2012.

In addition to running my private practice, I am a staff clinician at the Center for Anxiety in Brooklyn. I am an active member of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA), American Psychological Association (APA), and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). I am also an occasional guest lecturer at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. I also conduct OCD support groups, provide consultation and supervision services for trainees and clinicians, and lead seminars and talks on the integration of mental health and technology/popular media.

My name is Yoni Sobin, and I am a proud nerd. Why is this relevant? Please click here to learn more about my unique approach to treatment, “Nerd Therapy.” You can access my CV and learn more about where I have worked since beginning my career below.
